- Can they do the job? If not, are we prepared to provide them with the training that they require to be able to do the job? Credentials and certifications do not tell it all.
- Do they learn quickly and not get caught up in the wrong details? Are they focused on different values than the ones that you are looking for?
- Do they take personal responsibility for their own actions? In the past do they blame everyone else for their shortcomings?
- Do they have a sense of humour and know how to use it appropriately to reduce stress and conflict while engaging others to take action?
It is the attitude that you need to understand. With the above questions answered accurately you can then decide if you have the ability to manage them.
